CSNP moves back to MAPD question

My coworker is plannning to go belly up after the last AEP, and he didn't lift a finger 'til after March 1st.

Then, in March, he's hollering about getting coverage. The only shot in the dark I could see was getting her into a CSNP.

We knew right off the bat his health probably wouldn't let him keep it, but at least it's a Band-Aid for a couple of months. he'll get the boot at the end of May.

Will that open the door for another SEP to move him back into a regular MAPD?

Honestly, he'd probably pass with flying colors for a supplement. That's our ace in the hole, but he's 80 and watching every penny.

Yep, losing the CSNP triggers a SEP. He'll have 3 months to move to a MAPD or Medicare. If he can pass underwriting, a supplement's an option, but cost might be a factor at 80. Hope that helps

Yeah it'll trigger SEP for a regular MAPD plan. He should watch closely for that window so he can switch without gaps. Supplements could be a solid move if he can swing the cost, especially given his age and health.

Yeah, once he loses that CSNP coverage at the end of May, that should trigger a SEP to enroll in a regular MAPD. Age and budget are factors, but if a Medigap makes sense financially and medically, that's still on the table too, just careful timing so he doesn't end up with a gap in coverage.
